FEATURED PROJECTS
MAGDALEN ROAD, SW18
The clients' brief here was very clear in that the garden needed to facilitate their boys’ desire for relentless football skill practice without annoying their neighbours!
The only approach here was to replace the fencing with solid brick walls, not only to absorb the sound of the balls, but also to provide an aesthetic boundary - seen from the kitchen - in the absence of any planting or design within the space.
Slatted cedar topper panels gave a contrast in material to add interest and linked with the existing slatted fence that had to be retained. Reclaimed London stock were chosen to tie in with the house.
A very small terrace extends out from the kitchen straight onto artificial grass in which the boys have enjoyed many hours of play and fresh air!

TESTIMONIAL
LAURA BROWN, HOMEOWNER
We desperately wanted a play area for the boys but something that looked nice without the addition of any planting/design elements into their space. In the absence of shape or plants, Tris focused on incorporating design, detail and texture into the vertical planes of the boundary which gave us an attractive outlook from the family room whilst maximising the area for the boys to play within.
Whilst not a 'garden creation' as such, Tris was very receptive about what we needed and wanted and was able to provide this very practical and functional space for us, which has been great. Just one small container tree for the corner is due to arrive imminently! Tris was also keen to incorporate something for the wildlife given the extent of paving and artificial grass, so an oasis of ferns and shade loving ground cover was created in unused space between our kitchen and lounge that had formerly been a dumping ground for junk.
