Bickersteth Road,
SW17
A partial overhead pergola provides an element of 3D in this tiny courtyard to add interest and to help manage the scale of the design against this very tall block of flats. It also provides a sense of enclosure to the sofa seating with options to screen the top with decorative panels. The boundaries have been edged with raised planters to 2 sides, all in soft black Design-clad; a colour to give the illusion of receding boundaries as well as providing the perfect backdrop for the contrasting greens/limes of the tropical planting palette. We painted 2 of the walls with sage green to unite with the colour of the internal refurbishment linking seamlessly this outdoor extension to the lovely apartment. A small bistro table and chairs and integrated bench widen the entertaining opportunities in this compact but stunning little space.
WHAT
A tiny court-yard of a new residential block in need of a complete re-design to compliment the stylish interior of this gorgeous ground floor apartment.
