A part re-design instruction for this large open SW facing garden in Wandsworth where evolving needs provided the perfect opportunity to replace the wendy house with a fabulous seating area for respite from the sun.
Working with the existing raised beds in order to follow the lines of the previous design and to achieve fluidity, we constructed a generous sized raised deck area for sofa seating and over-head swinging chairs.

Keen to work with/around the existing silver birch trees, we managed to achieve instant gratification with a cosy woodland feel to this space that provided the perfect and natural shady retreat. We are proud to say we retained all trees without damage to a single branch with trunk
cut - outs across the decking. We further enhanced a sense of enclosure with a bespoke pergola designed around the canopies to give an overhead framework for swinging chairs, climbers, lighting and feature lanterns. The design slipped in to the existing layout as if it had always been there!
