FEATURED PROJECTS
Bennerley Road,
SW11
We decided on a substantial dig-out of the entire site in order to be able to create a single level garden ideal for family use and entertaining. Our client loved to be outdoors in all weathers and was keen on a usable space and a covered outdoor kitchen.
With newly constructed retaining walls to the boundary in a textured brick-slip cladding, we staggered the fencing above in line with the land/neighbouring properties.
WHAT
A tiny Balham garden with a very steep terrace to the rear which left both lower and upper areas of no use at all to the family.

The layering of the two vertical landscaping materials helped to reduce the impact of the boundary height. This drastic design approach allowed us to create a generous space for the family incorporating a dining area close to the house with built-in benches, casual seating to the back as well as a bespoke and much loved (and used!) outdoor kitchen. The client adored hot colour planting which we were able to introduce in borders and containers within this tiny little sun trap/micro-climate. The family were delighted to finally have a garden they could use as opposed to staring at a high rendered wall cutting the garden in half.
